Daylan Sless

Daylan Wayne Sless, son of Catherine and Dustin Sless of El Campo, was baptized following the 10 a.m. Mass at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Father Gary Janak performed the sacrament of baptism. Daylan wore a white silk christening suit.

His godparents are Scott and Kendra Charbula.

Lunch was held afterwards at Los Cucos. Special guests were Annie Clark, maternal grandmother; Robin Sless, paternal grandmother; David Sless, paternal grandfather; Shirley Popp and Daniel and Wilma Sless, paternal greatgrandparents; Daryal Mozisek, maternal great-uncle; and Anita Vinklarek, maternal great-grandmother.

Daylan received a cross, rosaries, first Bible, prayer book, picture frames, photo album, bracelet, money and savings account.

Z'ariah Bennett

Deliesha Bennett of El Campo announce the birth of her first child, a daughter named Z'ariah Ja'Cole Bennett. The baby was born at 4:43 p.m., April 11, 2008 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton weighing 9 pounds, 9 ounces.

Alyssa Casarez

Mr. and Mrs. Elvis A. Casarez of El Campo announce the birth of their first child, a daughter named Alyssa Breann Casarez. The baby was born at 2:36 a.m., April 17, 2008 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton weighing 6 pounds, 15 ounces.

Maternal grandparents are Rose Marie and Domingo Garcia Jr. of El Campo. Paternal grandparents are Raymond and Gloria Casarez of El Campo.

Great-grandparents are Aurora Garcia and the late Domingo Garcia Jr., the late John and Louise Casarez, Margaret Anzaldua and the late Fred Anzaldua.

The mother is the former Victoria Garcia.

Andrez Gallardo

Mr. and Mrs. Gallardo Jr. of El Campo announce the birth of their first child, a son named Andrez Mario Seann Gallardo. The baby was born at 7:47 a.m., April 14, 2008 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton weighing 7 pounds, 4 ounces.

Maternal grandparents are Mario and Vida Arrambide of El Campo. Paternal grandparents are Andres Sr. and Mary Gallardo of El Campo.

Great-grandparents are the late Jimmy and Josephine Ramirez of Angleton, Hope Ramirez and Bennie Tellez of Angleton, Mario Ramirez of Irving, the late Jesus and Dominga Ortiz of El Campo and the late Andres and Teresa Gallardo of Mexico.

The mother is the former Chasity Renee Villarreal.

John Sikes

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson Sikes of Fairfield, Conn. announce the birth of their second child, a son named John Decker Sikes. The baby was born at 5:18 p.m., 80432210.BJPS 4/16/08 10:12 April 16, 2008 at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn.

The baby is welcomed home by sister Charlotte, age 20 months.

Maternal grandparents are Maureen and Decker Adams of Scituate, Mass. Paternal grandparents are Bob and Kay Sikes of El Campo.

The mother is the former Kristin Adams.

Pressley Zakem

Peyton Zakem

Mr. and Mrs. Jon Zakem of Needville announce the birth of their second and third children, twin daughters named Pressley Reyenne Zakem and Peyton Elizabeth Zakem born March 27, 2008 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Wharton.

Pressley weighed 5 pounds, 7 ounces and Peyton weighed 5 pounds, 2 ounces.

The twin sisters are welcomed home by their sister Paige, age 4.

Maternal grandparents are John and Carol Wishert of El Campo. Paternal grandparents are the late George E. and Wendy Zakem.

Great-grandparents are Mary and Jerry House and Janette Wishert, all of El Campo. Great-great grandmother is Effie "Moon" Anderson of El Campo.

The mother is the former Donna Leigh Ann Wishert.
