Veterans' assistance available

      Local veterans served their country, but may not be collecting the benefits they deserve. The Wharton County Chapter 72 of the Disabled American Veterans is working to ensure local veterans can collect the benefits they are entitled to receive.

      City Arrests Property Marjorie May Cordes, 39, of Madill, Okla. was arrested at 1:15 p.m. Monday, April 21 on a warrant for theft by an Aransas County Sheriff's deputy. She remained in custody at presstime. Manuel Anthony Vasquez Jr., 18, of 805 Dunlap was arrested at 3 p.m.
