LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Citation was omitted Editor, the Leader-News:

Your response as to why these tag-ons are relevant are true and I understand that completely. Also true, as I stated in my last letter, "it would be relevant to add what was the sentence or punishment imposed for that crime, rather than making a statement with so little words, but so much meaning." Rather than stating that my convictions happened in 2001, as you finally did in your response.

In regards to your police blotter type response, since the Leader-News does not provide detailed accounts of every individual's case, we must safely assume that your response was one of malice, with intents to discourage or embarrass. You have done nothing but reinforce the reality I wrote of. I let my pad set overnight, knowing that something would come to mind, but my mind stares back at me. Some things speak for themselves. In my current letter, the definition of propaganda was not represented correctly because the site where the information was obtained was not listed. It is as follows: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda.

Life depends on finding match

Editor, the Leader-News:

We learned this week that neither my aunt (my dad, Dwight Holub's only sibling), a cousin, my brother, nor myself were a "match" for my dad in the search for a stem cell transplant. Thus, we will remain hopeful that the National Marrow/Stem Cell Donor Registry will provide a "match" for him and others who are in need.

The more people who are on the registry, the greater the chance someone will find their match.

As some of you know, I have organized a Marrow/Stem Cell Donor Registry Drive set for Saturday, May 3 from 9:30 to 1:30 at the Commercial State Bank Gold Room in El Campo. I hope that you will prayerfully consider signing up for the registry on that day. It is free, quick and a simple cheek swab.

Please spread the word about the need for marrow/stem cell donors, not just for my dad who is being treated for cancer, but for others who need a transplant.

Many thanks, Lori Holub Janak
