ECHS Speech & Drama students do well in district meet

Members of the El Campo High School Speech and Drama class did well at the Gulf Coast District NFLmeet held at Gregory Portland High School. Sixteen high schools from across the Gulf Coast area competed and ECHS students earned top honors.

Awards are as follows:

Colleen Mauch: Quarterfinalist in humorous interpretation.

David Otradovsky and Marissa Hicks: Semi-finalist in duo interpretation.

Blake Justice and Mike Wissinger: Quarterfinalists in public forum debate.

Blake Justice: Sixth place in Congress (alternate to nationals).

Kevin Jasso: Fourth place in Senate (alternate to nationals).

The policy debate team of Sean Bram and Ali Raza placed second and qualified for the NFLNational Tournament held in June in Henderson, Nev.

Katrese Skinner, ECHS Speech and Drama coach, was also elected chairwoman of the Gulf Coast NFLDistrict. The selection was made by peers and other member coaches at the event.

El Campo will host next year's district meet.
