Tony-Winner Jarrod Emick co-stars in AIDA, conducts performing workshops for STSME!
South Texas Summer Musical Encores!, a 501(c)(3) performing arts scholarship organization, is producing two musicals during its 2008 summer season to maximize performance and scholarship availability for student musical theatre performers.

The musicals are
Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida for four performances only, Thursday, July 17 through Sunday, July 20, and
Disney's High School Musical, with eight performances Thursdays through Sundays, July 24 -27 and July 31 to Aug. 3.
Both productions are anticipated to be performed at last year's locale, the El Campo High School Auditorium.
Auditions are scheduled for Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13, 7 - 9:30 p.m. at the El Campo Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, 201 East Jackson.
Auditions are open to all Wharton County area high school and collegiate students intending or currently majoring in musical or performing arts.
To schedule an audition, students should contact Encores! Artistic Director Nathan Hand at nhand@springisd.org and prepare a one-two minute monologue and a minimum of sixteen bars of a song from any musical of their choice.
An accompaniment will be provided. With its inaugural production of Thoroughly Modern Millie last summer, Encores! provided $3,250 in student scholarships.

South Texas Summer Musical Encores! is proud to announce its 2008 Summer guest artist, Tony Award- Winning Broadway veteran Jarrod Emick.
Emick is a Tony winner for his portrayal of Joe Hardy in the 1994 Broadway revival of Damn Yankees with Bebe Neuwirth and Victor Garber.
His other Broadway credits are The Boy from Oz opposite film star Hugh Jackman, The Rocky Horror Show, Ring of Fire and Miss Saigon.
Emick will co-star and collaborate with Encores! students this summer in Aida and conduct several performing workshops during production rehearsals.
