WCJC rodeo team aims for nationals
      The Wharton County Junior College men and women's rodeo teams will have a home arena advantage in the final Southern Region competition May 2-3 in Johnson Arena at the Crescent Fairgrounds. It's held in conjunction with the Wharton County Youth Fair.

EC track runs through region
      The Ricebirds and Lady 'Birds gave great efforts at Huntsville Friday and Saturday in the regional track meet. El Campo's teams made a push for the finals and had two girls qualify. Shelby May competed in the 800- meter run and Chelsi Robinson ran in the 200-meter dash.

Angleton tops EC in first round

      Angleton surprised El Campo Friday with a dominating performance to end the Lady 'Birds softball season in the first round of the playoffs. The Lady Wildcats held off El Campo for a 3-0 win thanks primarily to great pitching.
