Comfort Wood members attend workshop Members of the Comfort Wood Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, traveled to Corpus Christi Monday, April 28, for a Division VI Workshop. The morning session was led by Susan Tillman, state chapter support chairwoman who refreshed members on six points: •DAR Organizational Structure •Where to go for help •Recruiting Chapter Committee Chairman •Programs •Protocol •Sample Agenda. The purpose was to give information to keep chapters vital, interesting and up-todate. Natalie Michel, state membership chairwoman, offered information on using the DAR Web sites and the mentoring program. The afternoon session began with Gabrielle Hadjke, state lineage research chairwoman and certified NSDAR volunteer and field genealogist. Her session was all about applications and new members. Valerie Haesly-Parson, division VI state vice-chairwoman lineage research and a certified NSDAR volunteer and field genealogist, gave an informative talk on preparing and verifying the lineage of prospective members. Daughters of the American Revolution is a lineage organization. All members trace their ancestors back to the American Revolution.
