WCYF RESULTS
WCJC cowboys totaled 620 points to win the title. McNeese State University was a distant second with 515 points. Panola was third with 500 points, Texas A&M was fourth with 460 points. Sam Houston State University was fifth with 300 points, Northeast Texas Community College was sixth with 265 points. Hill College was seventh with 145 points and Southwest Texas Junior College was eighth with 70 points. WCJC finished fourth overall in the regional standings with 3,607 1/2 points. NETCC took first with 4,480 1/2 points. Panola was second with 3,985 1/2 points and Sam Houston was third with 3,785 1/2 points. WCJC women's team finished fifth at Crescent with only 115 points. SHSU took the title with 610 points, Hill was second with 260 points, McNeese was third with 203 points and A&M was fourth with 195 points. WCJC also finished fourth in the region with 1,441 points. SHSU took first with 3,353 points, A&M was second with 3,178 points and Hill was third with 1,561 points. Individually for WCJC's men team, Shiloh Seale finished second in men's All-Around with 105 points. Kyle Beasley of Mc- Neese won it with 180 points. WCJC cowboy Trey Broussard finished fourth in the region of the All-Around with 1,114 points. John Kueckelhan of NETXCC took first with 1,243 points and Jacey Slone of A&M was second with 1,198 points. Broussard finished second in saddle bronc riding in Crescent with 143 points and finished third in the region with 779 points. WCJC cowboy Justin Nowotny finished second in tie down calf roping with a 17.9 second time and Seale was eighth with a 25.9 second time. Nowotny finished second in the region with 600 points to qualify for the NIRA National Finals Rodeo in June. WCJC sophomore and East Bernard graduate Cody Graves took first in bull riding at Crescent with 67 points and he finished ninth in the region with 240 points. Pioneers Cameron Bland and Robert Averett didn't compete in Crescent but finished fourth and fifth respectively in the region, In steer wrestling, WCJC Cade Rice finished fifth with a 12.5 second time. He finished fourth in the region with 572 points. In team roping heeler, Rudy Austin finished fourth with a 15.2 second time and Seale was fifth with a 18.1 second time. Seale finished second in the region with 515 points to qualify for nationals and Austin was fourth with 485 points. For the WCJC ladies in Crescent, Macie Haferkmp finished eighth in barrel racing with a 32.76 second average. Lauren Cox didn't compete but still won the region with 788 points to qualify for the National Finals in June. She finished fifth in goat tying at Crescent with a 18.7 second time. She was fourth in women's all-around with 1,062 points. In breakaway calf roping, Zane Dishman tied for eighth with a 8.5 second time |
