COURT REPORTS Following recent court action, several admitted felons will spend time behind bars for crimes committed in Wharton County. Judge Randy Clapp of the 329th District handed down the following sentences during late April plea-bargain hearings. Those pleading guilty and accepting punishment included: • Brian Duwayne Williams, 20, of 1015 N. Liberty in El Campo for assault. He pleaded the charge down to a Class A misdemeanor and was sen- tenced to 120 days in county jail. Williams received credit for time already served. In a separate court action, a previous conviction for a robbery was adjudicated. Williams received two years probation, a 120-day county jail sentence served concurrently and an order to perform 60 hours of community service. • Nicole Michele Harrell, 32, of 1309 Short in El Campo for endangering a child. She was sentenced to 42 days in county jail with credit for time served. • Ricky Nell Johnson, 46, of 110 Alfred in El Campo for possession of a controlled substance. He was placed on five years probation on the condition he serve 56 days in county jail along with orders to perform 40 hours community service and pay $250 restitution. Johnson received credit for time already served. In a separate court action, he pleaded guilty to tampering with physical evidence and was placed on five years deferred probation with a concurrent 56-day county jail sentence. • Hershel Walker, 49, of 220 Palmer in El Campo for burglary of a habitation. He was placed on two years deferred probation on the condition he spend 42 days in county jail. He received credit for time already served. • Ruben Guerra Jr., 43, of 206 Gallagher in Wharton for assault. He was sentenced to 60 days in county jail with credit for time already served. In a separate court action, Guerra's probation for a driving while intoxicated conviction was revoked. He was sentenced to two years in prison. • Juan Richard Lopez Gonzales aka Miguel Angel Lopez, 30, of 1121 Harrison in Sealy for criminal attempt (bigamy). He was sentenced to 153 days in county jail with credit for time already served. • Stacy Lynn Shelton, 24, of 808 Roberts in El Campo for debit card abuse. She was placed on two years deferred probation on the condition she serve 42 days in county jail and pay $706.99 restitution. Shelton received credit for time already served. • Julie Welch, 29, of 208 Bowman in Berwick for forgery. She was sentenced to 89 days in county jail with credit for time already served. • Daniel Lee Deleon, 21, of 904 Palacios in El Campo for assault. He pleaded to a Class A misdemeanor and was sentenced to 57 days in county jail with credit for time already served. • Gabriel Dera Ramirez, 26, of CR 453 in El Campo for driving while intoxicated. He was placed on five years probation, fined $150 and sentenced to 10 days in county jail with credit for time served. Ramirez was also ordered to perform 60 hours community service. • Robert Munoz, 60, 1823 Stadium Rd. #708 in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance. His prior conviction was adjudicated and he was sentenced to 39 days in county jail with credit for time served. • Cameron Jenae Ephran, 21, of 1509 Columbine in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance. Her previous conviction was adjudicated and he was sentenced to 47 days in county jail with credit for time served. • Billy Schooler, 22, of 716 E. Caney in Wharton for possession of a controlled substance. His prior conviction was adjudicated and he was sentenced to two years in prison. • Joash Solis, 21, of 107 E. West in El Campo for three counts of burglary of a habitation and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His prior convictions were adjudicated and he was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. • Luis Galvan, 28, of 1526 El Paso in Corpus Christi for possession of marijuana. His probation was revoked and he was sentenced to three years in prison. • Steve Garza, 25, of 10607 Harry in Needville for burglary of a habitation. His prior conviction was adjudicated and he was sentenced to two years in prison. |
