Retired teacher group attends district meeting

Members of the Wharton County Retired Teachers Association attended the District III meeting at the Bay City Service Center Wednesday, April 30. Among the 70 attending were Jeannette Macha, Betty Ann Parma, Kay Sikes and Jeanell Taylor of El Campo.

District III President Rose Castilow of Bay City presided. Macha will continue to be chairwoman of the Texas Retired Teachers Foundation. Jalowy will be on the nominating committee for the 2009-2011 officers.

Members of District III Texas Retired Teachers Association who died in the past year were named in the memorial service. Leadership training sessions followed for officers and committee members.

Herbert Norris of Tyler, State 1st Vice President of TRTA, was the guest speaker.

The District III fall meeting of will be at Christ Lutheran Church in El Campo, Oct. 1.
