City Arrests Alcohol, drugs

A 14-year-old El Campo boy was arrested at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, May 6 on two counts of possession of a controlled substance after he was found to have two Lyrica painkiller pills on him while at El Campo Middle School. He was released the same day to the custody of a relative.

Sheila Ormand reported burglary of a habitation at 613 Merchant between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 6. Burglars took a $1,000 laptop, $200 in gaming gear, $5,000 in old coins and currency, $5,429.99 in jewelry and a $125 pink-handled Lorsin .25 caliber firearm.

Edmund Socha Jr. reported theft of a 10-foot-long, wheeled barbecue pit with 24-inch smoke pipes with hitch from 1605 N. Mechanic between 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 and 9 a.m. Thursday, May 8.

Norman Bauer reported vandals shot or broke out a window worth $100 at a home at 1324 CR 310 in El Campo between April 27 and April 30.

Albert Supak reported theft of a Nintendo Wii with games and accessories worth $457, a $400 Taurus .38 Special and an 1898 .20 gauge shotgun with a sheriff's badge engraved on the stock worth $10,000 from 150 Dove Road between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday, May 1.

Linda Kight reported unauthorized use of a motor vehicle at 220 Palomar between midnight and 9:40 a.m. Friday, May 2.

Benicio Acuna Jr. reported burglary of a home at 904 CR 310 in El Campo between 6:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1 and 7 p.m. Sunday, May 4. Burglars took $700 in jewelry and a change jar with about $150 in it.

Violence, weapons

A 19-year-old El Campo man reported aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (a knife) at the El Campo KC Hall on CR 406 between 12:30 and 12:45 a.m. Sunday, May 4.

Jail population as of 11:30 a.m. May 8 was 104 prisoners.
