Police Blotter City Arrests Alcohol, drugs Dustin Longoria, 21, of 503 Lincoln was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Sunday, May 11 on a charge of driving while intoxicated after police allegedly saw him drive over a curb and flower bed. He was transferred to Wharton County Jail and remained in custody as of 1:15 p.m. Monday, May 12. Vicente Rodriguez Chavez, 47, of 312 N. Wharton was arrested at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, May 11 on a charge of driving while intoxicated after police saw him swerving on West Jackson Street. He was was released on $2,000 bond at 1 p.m. the same day. Property Johnny Garza Gonzales, 37, of 501 W. Willow Lane in Wharton was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Friday, May 9 on three warrants for issuance of a bad check, two warrants for no insurance, warrants for driving without lights and open alcohol container in a motor vehicle and charges of no driver's license, expired registration, no insurance and speeding, after being stopped for allegedly speeding. He remained in custody at presstime. His passenger, Stephanie Pena Partida, 33, of the same address was arrested on warrants for issuance of a bad check, no insurance and failure to yield. She remained in custody at presstime. Sonny Wade Smith, 28, of 6748 FM 1161 West in Wharton was arrested at 8:22 p.m. Saturday, May 10 on a warrant for issuance of a bad check. He was released the same day after paying a $375.30 fine. Violence, weapons Eduardo Tellez Dominguez, 24, of 812 W. Fifth was arrested at 12:31 a.m. Saturday, May 10 on charges of assault causes bodily injury, failure to signal, riding a bike on the wrong side of the road, public intoxication and no white light on bicycle. He allegedly wrestled with officers during booking, knocking three of them to the floor during the struggle, then beat up a fellow prisoner. He was being held on $3,300 bond as of 1:15 p.m. Monday, May 12. Ernesto Rojas, 30, of 711 Roth was arrested at 5:39 p.m. Sunday, May 11 on a charge of assault after allegedly kicking a woman repeatedly after he'd knocked her to the ground. He was released on $2,500 bond at 11:20 a.m. Monday, May 12. Other Abraham James Bermea, 43, of 1005 W. Fifth was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Friday, May 9 on a Burleson County warrant for nonpayment of child support, a charges of expired driver's license and warrants for stray animal, failure to show proof of an animal license, failure to prove an animal's rabies vaccination, speeding in a school zone and public intoxication. He was being held on no bond for the child support charge and on $500 bond for the expired driver's license charge as of Monday, May 12. Grisel Estafani Salinas, 22, of 308 Tallow Lane was arrested at 6:14 p.m. Sunday, May 11 on warrants for failure to appear and no seat belt and two warrants each for no driver's license and no insurance. She remained in custody at presstime. Alice Cruz, 45, of 904 E. Calhoun was arrested at 7:23 p.m. Sunday, May 11 on a warrant for failure to appear. She was released the same day after paying a $399.75 fine. Public intoxication: 7. City Incidents Property J&D Bottle Shop, 619 N. Mechanic, reported theft between 5:50 and 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 6.
