Cristina Chacón and Johnny Edward Gonzales Jr. were united in marriage at 4 p.m., July 19, 2008 at the El Campo Civic Center. A reception followed at the hall. Judge Dennis Korenek performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Francisco and Lucia Chacón of El Campo. Parents of the groom are Brenda and Johnny Gonzales Sr. of El Campo.
The hall was decorated with black arches with pink and black tulle, white lights and foliage. Rows of chairs were decorated with pink and black tulle.
The bride, escorted by her father, wore a floral print satin and chiffon halter sheath gown with empire beaded band and a sweeping train in ivory by Galina. Her diamond white veil fell from a small rhinestone tiara. She carried a bouquet of white roses with a single small pink rose accented with baby's breath Stems were wrapped in pink ribbon with a small pink and black bow.
Matron of honor was Claudia Garcia of Universal City, cousin of the bride. Maid of honor was Denise Chacón of Denton, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Tiffany Fuentes and Niesha Brown of El Campo, friends of the bride; Maria Elena Ramirez of Piedras Negras, Mexico, cousin of the bride; and Samantha Gomez of Houston, cousin of the groom.
Bridesmaids wore light pink gowns in a design of their choosing. The maid and matron of honor wore a silver gown of their choosing. Their bouquets were comprised of white roses with baby's breath wrapped in pink ribbon at the stems with a small pink and black bow.
Junior maid of honor and flower girl was Ariana Gonzales, daughter of the bride and groom. Ring bearers were Isaias Garcia, cousin of the bride, and Lauro Casas, cousin of the groom.
Joel Rocha and Zenon Loredo of El Campo, friends of the groom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Andy Gonzales and David Gonzales of El Campo, brothers of the groom; and Carlos Quintanilla, and Edward Galvan Jr. of El Campo, cousin of the groom. Max Navarro was an usher.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of El Campo High School and a 2005 graduate of Wharton County Junior College where she received an associate of arts degree in education. She is attending the University of Houston-Victoria majoring in education. She is a secretary for Cardell Cabinets.
The groom is a 2003 graduate of Louise High School. He is currently attending Wharton County Junior College where he is a student in the automotive technology program. He is a salesman for Johnny Tire.
The couple will reside in El Campo.
