City Arrests Alcohol, drugs

Elva Garza Cardenas, 56, of 1007 W. Fourth was arrested at 2:16 a.m. Saturday, July 26 on a charge of driving while intoxicated and cited for open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, after being stopped for failing to signal a turn. She was transferred to Wharton County Jail the same day.

Juan Adolfo Lule-Ortiz, 20, of 993 Blue Jay in Markham was arrested at 2:26 a.m. Sunday, July 27 on charges of driving while intoxicated, no insurance and failure to report a motor vehicle crash. He allegedly drove from Pan American Ballroom, 1983 FM 1163, north to Palacios Street but when he reached Avenue F, reported drove through a yard, striking a tree, through another yard where his car hit a barbecue pit and chainlink fence, and through a vacant lot before finally stopping in the 2500 block of West Jackson. He was transferred to county jail the same day.

Vicky Villarreal, 27, of 1704 Lampley was arrested at 7:58 p.m. Monday, July 28 on a warrant for theft between $50 and $500. She was transferred to county jail the next day.

Violence, weapons

Randy Lucas Smith, 33, of 300 N. Washington was arrested at 5:44 a.m. Saturday, July 26 on a charge of aggravated assault after allegedly hitting a man in the head with a blunt object, knocking him to the ground. He was transferred to county jail the next day.

Other

Glen Mitchell Gant, 22, of 311 August was arrested at 6:40 p.m. Friday, July 25 on a warrant for criminal trespass, a Fort Bend County warrant for theft by check and a charge of resisting arrest. Police went to his home to arrest him, but as they knocked on the door, he reportedly hollered at them from across the street, then fought as they tried to take him into custody. He was transferred to county jail the next day.

Jason Douglas Hubenak, 19, of 7905 FM 3012 in Wharton was arrested at 1:41 a.m. Sunday, July 27 on charges of failure to identify and public intoxication. He was transferred to county jail the same day.

John Edwin Davant VI, 20, of 696 CR 442 was arrested at 1:51 a.m. Sunday, July 27 on charges of failure to identify and public intoxication after allegedly giving a police officer the ID of a person the officer went to school with, who was not Davant. He was transferred to county jail the same day.

County Incidents Property

David Carriere reported criminal mischief to a vehicle at 405 N. Market in Louise, causing $4,500 in damage, between 2 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. Sunday, July 6. He reported a second case between 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 and 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17 causing $5,000 damage.

Wenglar Services Inc., 202 Ave. A in Louise, reported burglary glary of a building between 11 a.m. Sunday, July 6 and 7:45 a.m. Monday, July 7. Burglars broke out a window, causing $400 damage.

Debora Vera reported a burglary at 306 N. Orange in Louise between 8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8. Thieves took a $350 saddle and $310 in saddle blankets, lead ropes, bridles and other tack.

Steven Henderson reported burglary of a vehicle in the 700 block of North Street in Louise between 5 p.m. Sunday, July 6 and 8:30 a.m. Friday, July 11. Burglars took tools and parts worth $270 and did $200 damage to a tractor.

Aqua-Zyme Disposal Systems of Van Vleck reported theft from 401 Ellwood in El Campo between 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 15 and 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 16. Thieves took two container tarps worth $300.

Violence, weapons

A 33-year-old El Campo man and a 36-yearold El Campo woman reported aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (a wrench and razor cutter) in the roadway of CR 403 at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 16. The attacker also did $210 damage to a pickup.

County Jail Bookings Alcohol, drugs

Kyle Joseph Foytik, 21, of 102 Frels was booked at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23 on two counts of intoxicated assault. He was released on $30,000 bond at 11:20 a.m. the same day.

James Anthony Vega, 37, of CR 451 in El Campo was booked into Wharton County Jail at 1:38 a.m. Thursday, July 24 for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. As of 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24 he was still in custody on $30,000 bond.

Violence, weapons

Zachary Joe Aguilar, 17, of 1948 CR 407 in El Campo was booked at 8:56 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 for assault-family violence. He was released on $2,500 bond at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 23.

Jail population as of 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24 was 111 prisoners.
