High School freshman orientation is Friday, Aug. 22. Students with last names A-L report to Ricebird Gym at 9 a.m.; those with last names M-Z report there at 1 p.m. Morning session ends at 11:25 a.m.; afternoon session at 3:25 p.m. Freshmen pick up their schedules and IDs the first day of school, Monday, Aug. 25 in the cafeteria; other students get theirs that day at Ricebird Gym. Louise ISD Back-To-School Info Louise Elementary holds Meet the Teacher Thursday, Aug. 21 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in each child's classroom. Parents should bring their child's labeled school supplies at that time. Louise Junior High orientation is the same day at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Students can pick up their schedules at that time. Parents can put money in their child's cafeteria account during either event. Youth Fair Rules & Regulations Under Review The Wharton County Youth Fair holds an informative meeting for the 2009 Creative Arts, Livestock and Poultry Rules and Regulations Thursday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Director's Room of the office complex at the fairgrounds. All new rule changes will be addressed. Everyone interested in participating in the 2009 Fair is encouraged to attend. Fair Office: 677-3350. Church. For information call 543-2362. Ladies Community Bible Study Begins Ladies community Bible Study begins a 30-week study of the gospel of Matthew Aug. 28. Class meets each Thursday, 10 a.m.-noon at Memorial Baptist Church, 1009 N. Wharton. A children's program for ages 3-5 is available, as is as nursery. Every Monday the pool will be closed. Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-11 a.m. and 4-7 p.m., Friday from 6-11 a.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 1-6 p.m. Be sure to wear proper swim attire and don't forget, no food or drinks are allowed. Heritage Center Clay Shoot The Rotary Club of El Campo and Garwood Sporting Clays are teaming up to raise money for The Heritage Center of El Campo with a sporting clays shoot Saturday, Sept. 13 from 3-7 p.m. The $75 entry fee includes 100 targets and a barbecue dinner. Memorial Bricks For Your Veteran Based on requests, American Legion Post 251 is enlarging its Veterans Memorial site to include 160 additional memorial bricks at $100 each.
