Eagle Lake's parish festival set for Oct. 19 Parishioners invite the community and surrounding areas to make plans to come and share a wonderful day of fellowship. The all-day festival will be held at the church's pavilion located at 545 S. Austin Road (across from the hospital in Eagle Lake). Barbecued chicken with all the trimmings will be served. You can dine on the church's pavilion premises or curb service plates will be available in a convenient drive-through line. Serving will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., and meal tickets are $7 each. The live auction, featuring lots of great items, is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. A drawing for 41 prizes, all gift cards, will be held following the live auction. There will be DJ music and much more waiting for you and your family throughout the afternoon. Other activities include a country store, cake and plant walk, Mexican bingo, basketball free-throw contest and a variety of food booths. The kids will have a great time at the many game booths planned for children including a duck pond, Cookie Monster and SpongeBob booths, face painting and moon walk. And for those with even more action in mind, there will be a horseshoe tournament beginning at 2 p.m. and a soccer tournament. Sunday's Eucharist will be celebrated at the newly-renovated church at 310 N. Stevenson Street in Eagle Lake at 8 a.m. in Spanish and 10 a.m. in English. The Parish of the Nativity encourages you to come out and bring the family to enjoy the day's festivities in Eagle Lake. There will be something for everyone! |
