Ad deadlines change for Leader-News classifieds To help serve El Campo Leader-News classified advertising customers better, the deadline has been changed to Monday at 5 p.m. for the Wednesday edition, and Thursday at 5 p.m. for the Saturday edition, effective immediately. The previous deadline was 10 a.m. Tuesday and Friday, which did not give the staff time to adequately take the ads, produce and proof them before building the pages and sending to the press. The earlier deadlines will help your newspaper staff to give more thought to design, and more time to proofing the ads in order to reduce typographical errors. The Leader-News staff has a goal of sending the paper to the press in Rosenberg by 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday. A few people still remember the deadline as noon on Tuesday and Friday, but it has actually been 10 a.m. for many years now. Your newspaper staff has been telling callers for some time that Monday and Friday at 5 p.m. was the deadline in order to try to get as many ads in early as possible, but it is now official. The Wharton Journal-Spectator has changed its classified advertising deadlines as well to make them identical to those of the Leader-News. The East Bernard Express advertising deadline remains Tuesday at noon. "We appreciate the public helping us out with this deadline change. We will run 'house ads' in the classified section on a regular basis to help educate our customers and future customers to help customers remember the new cutoff time," Chris Barbee, publisher, said. |
