Taylors celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

MR. AND MRS. WALTER TAYLOR
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Taylor celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sunday in the company of their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.

The day began with the family attending Mass at St. Procopius Catholic Church in Louise, where Father Clem Quainoo was the celebrant.

The family then gathered at the Thomas Edison Room at Wharton County Electric Coop for a meal of roast beef and sausage along with all the trimmings.

Father Tim Kosler, family friend, said the grace before the meal and asked a special blessing for the Taylors and their guests.

Family and friends enjoyed an afternoon of visiting and reminiscing with the Taylors.

The registry, draped in a yellow rose embroidered tablecloth, was decorated with pictures from the Taylors' anniversaries and their original wedding portrait as well as a sign-in book for guests. A quilt with pictures of the family from the wedding of the Taylors and their parents' wedding photos, to each of the children's weddings and pictures of all the grandchildren and greatgrandchildren was used as a backdrop for the anniversary cake table.

Refreshments were served throughout the day. Sandwiches, peanut butter clusters, angel food cake, brownies, various dips and chips and Mrs. Taylor's famous pickles were served.

Polka music filled the air as DJ Glen Jamerson, grandson, provided background music to the party. Derek Merta and Charlie Merta played polkas and waltzes.

Approximately 75 people attended and helped the Taylors to celebrate their 60 years of marriage. Guests attended from Dallas, Houston, Edna, Nada, Hillje, Shiner, Victoria, Austin, College Station, Katy, Palacios and El Campo.

The Taylors' family consists of their first child, Doris and husband Calvin Pfeil, their children Adam and Tammy Pfeil and daughter Kami; Jeff and Julie Pfeil and their children Lucas and Brady; and Staci Pfeil. The Taylors' daughter, Paula, is their second child and her husband is Richard Clark. Their children are Travis and Cassie Clark whose children are Bailey, Austine, and Trey; Stephanie and Glen Jamerson and son Tyler; and Celeste Clark. Randy Taylor is the third child in the Taylor family and his wife is Cecilia. Children are Greg Thompson and daughters Kylie and Faith; Patrick Thompson and son Landan, and daughters Elizabeth and Danielle Taylor. The Taylors' youngest child, Donna, is married to Chris Merta and their children are Melanie and Mike Porter and daughter Abigail, and sons Tim and Derek Merta.
