B&G Snag, Tag & Brag Dinner Nov. 6 The Boys & Girls Club of El Campo hosts its annual Snag, Tag & Brag event Thursday, Nov. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at the El Campo Civic Center. Enjoy a seafood dinner with guest speaker, Olympic boxer and coach Maurice "Termite" Watkins. Also Athlete of the Year recognition, live auction, bait bucket raffle and Southwest Airlines ticket raffle.

EC Book Club Meeting The El Campo Book Club meets Thursday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. at the El Campo Library. This month discussion is The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski. Edgar, a third generation dog breeder and trainer, was born mute. The Sawtelle dogs are bred to diminish undesirable traits. However, this does not apply to humans. Scholastic Book Fair At EC Library The El Campo Branch Library hosts the Scholastic Book Fair through Saturday, Nov. 8. A wide selection of books for all ages, posters, computer games, cook books, school supplies and more are available during regular business hours at the library at 200 W. Church. WalMart/El Campo Host Blood Drive Blood drive is Friday, Nov. 7 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the front parking lot of WalMart. Donors must present identifi cation. Anyone 17 years of age weighing at least 110 pounds and in good general health may donate blood and help save up to three lives with one donation.

K of C Barbecue Pork Steak Dinner Knights of Columbus Council 2490 barbecued pork steak dinner is Sunday, Nov. 9 at the KC Hall on Armory Road. Serving begins at 11 a.m. Plates are $7, to-go only.

Golden Harvest Held At EC Faith Center The El Campo Faith Center, 603 Burdette holds a Golden Harvest on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Nov. 10-12 at 7 p.m. Guest speaker is Evangelist Al Gluchoski. A dedication celebration is Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

EC/Hillje SPJST Monthly Meeting El Campo Hillje SPJST Lodge 40 holds its monthly meeting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9 at the Lodge Hall. It is potluck day; members are asked to bring a meat dish or casserole. Lodge will furnish desserts. It is also election of officers.

American Legion and Auxiliary Meeting American Legion Craig-Harriss Post 251 and its Ladies Auxiliary hold their annual Veterans Day celebration and fundraiser starting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Legion Hall. Barbecue chicken with trimmings served at 5:30 p.m., dine-in only at $6 per plate. A silent auction, raffle drawing and live auction begin at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited.

Hutchins Host Veterans Day Program The Hutchins Elementary Veterans Day program performed by the 3rd Grade students will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 9:45 a.m. at Hutchins Gym. All Veterans and the public are invited to attend.

Veterans Day At Myatt Elementary Myatt Elementary holds a Veterans Day program at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 in the cafeteria with an 8:15 coffee social for veterans. Myatt's 1st grade choir will perform. Lt. General (ret.) Steven R. Polk, former Inspector General of the Air Force is guest speaker.

Veterans Day at Northside Elementary Northside Elementary presents a program for Veterans Day Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 2:30 p.m. at the Northside cafeteria. The program features the Northside Singers and students of the guitar class. All parents, veterans and their families are invited to attend.

Veterans Day Program At Louise High School Louise High School holds its Veterans Day program Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 9:30 a.m. in front of the high school. Refreshments will be served after the program for veterans and their guests.

ECHS Veterans Day Program The El Campo High School Veterans Day program is Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 11:20 a.m. in the auditorium. The ECHS Band, choir, speech and drama students will perform. All veterans and their families are invited to attend.

EC Aggie Moms Meeting The El Campo Area Aggie Moms meet Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at J Brew in El Campo, across from Post Office. Moms can turn in their students' goodie bags for finals week. Deadline for goodie bags is Thursday, Nov. 13. The bags will be delivered Friday, Nov. 14 to MSC in College Station.

Citizen of the Year Nominations Sought The annual El Campo Chamber of Commerce awards banquet is three months away, but now is the time for the community to start submitting nominations for Citizen of the Year. Entries must be turned into the Chamber office by Friday, Nov. 14. The selection committee meets Tuesday, Nov. 18 to review nominations and select the 2008 Citizen of the Year.
