Legion's Newest Members

L-N Photo by Diana David Red Miller, the oldest member of the American Legion in El Campo and Jack Birkner, Legion commander (middle, l-r), welcomed two new members, Dustin David, left, and Hector Franco, right. The two young men were recognized at the Veterans Day event held Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the facility. David served in the Army in Iraq as an Apache helicopter mechanic and was released last November with a medical discharge. Franco, who also served in Iraq, was a peace keeper and an escort for the military. He has been out of the Army since August 2007.
