Aquatic Center Holiday Schedule The El Campo Aquatic Center has extended hours during the holiday period. Times are: Dec. 31, 6-11 a.m. and 1-7 p.m.; New Year's Day, closed; Jan. 2, 6-11 a.m. and 1-7 p.m.; Jan. 3, regular hours resume.

Rabbit Workshop For WCYF Exhibitors A rabbit workshop is Thursday, Jan. 8 at the Wharton County Youth Fairgrounds office complex. The workshop begins at 7 p.m. in the Directors Room. The workshop will go over caring for rabbits and showmanship. For information call the Fair Office at 979-677-3350.

WCYF Exhibitors Must Order Broilers WCYF exhibitors must order their broilers by Thursday, Jan. 9 for $1.50 per bird. A minimum order is 25 birds per exhibitor and a maximum order is 50 per exhibitor. Payment is required with your order and the $15 entry fee must also be paid. Memorial Bricks For Your Veteran Based on requests, American Legion Post 251 is enlarging its Veterans Memorial site to include 160 additional memorial bricks at $100 each. Free Night Classes Available Free Adult Basic Education/GED/English as a Second Language classes are offered here by Wharton County Junior College. Spay/Neuter Assistance Available The Matagorda County SPCA has a program to help financially disadvantaged people in Wharton, Jackson, Matagorda and the southern part of Colorado County get their dogs or cats spayed or neutered.
