Marilyn Swindler
Our beloved wife , mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, Marilyn Dulin Swindler, who was known as "Honey" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, went to be with her Lord on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at the age of 75 in College Station.
Marilyn was born on Jan. 30, 1933 in San Antonio to parents S.E. and Mildred Dulin.
She is survived by E.J. Swindler, husband and "Sweetheart" of 56 years; son, Ronnie Swindler and wife Laura; daughters, Debbie Swindler, Marsha Crabtree and Michelle Miori and husband Louis; nine grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Marilyn received a B.A. from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos and a M.A. from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. She began her teaching career in El Campo and later pursued a career as a counselor at Clear Lake I.S.D. They later retired to Waterwood.
Marilyn loved her God, His Word and His Church. She was a student and teacher of God's word for over 40 years. She was a charter member of Covenant Fellowship Church of Huntsville, where she taught a ladies Sunday School class and sang in the choir.
She and E.J. shared a passion for missions and helped on many trips to build churches on Indian Reservations in New Mexico.
Marilyn loved and devoted her life to her family, especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She loved life and all its experiences; laughter and hugs and serving others.
Services are today, Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Valentine officiating. Interment will follow at Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are "Honey's" grandsons: Sean Crabtree, C.J. Hartman, Michael Miori, Steven Miori, Ryan Swindler and Zac Wingerd.
