Bridal shower honors Kristi Gold

A miscellaneous bridal shower honoring Kristi Gold, brideelect of Blake Barger, was held from 10 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Jan. 10 at the home of Quala Matocha.

Hostesses were Janet Dornak, aunt of the groom, and Billie Jean Bram, Debbie Hamman, Gloria Nordeen, Deanne Hodges and Quala Matocha, friends of the groom's family.

White linen-covered tables were centered with fresh spring flowers in clear vases. The registry table held a photo of the couple, the registry book and a black pedestal lantern with a white candle.

Refreshments consisted of sausage and egg breakfast casserole, green chili breakfast casserole, artichoke dip with assorted crackers, miniature pigs-in-the-blanket, yogurt and strawberry parfaits, marinated cheeses and crackers, sausage and cheese balls, assorted fruit with cream cheese dip, miniature blueberry muffins, vanilla and chocolate eclairs, pumpkin and cream cheese rolls, mock champagne punch and hazelnut coffee.

The bride received assorted gifts from the hostesses as well as her guests.

Special guests were Rita Gold of Bryan, Kristi's mother; Diane Barger of El Campo, Blake's mother; Clarine Gold of El Campo and Mildred Kalas of Bryan, her grandmothers; Carolyn Cummings of Farmers Branch and Nada Carter of El Campo, his grandmothers; Kara Gold, sister of the brideto be; and several aunts and friends of the couple.

The couple's wedding is set for March 14 at First Presbyterian Church in El Campo.
