Briana Lynn Hernandez, 19, of 707 Cheryl was arrested at 7:25 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 for marijuana possession after being stopped in the 200 block of South Mechanic. Processed, Hernandez was sent to the Wharton County Jail. Once there, she posted a personal recognizance bond and was released the same day.

 

Property

Juan Jose Gonzalez, 23, of 630 Arthur in Garwood was arrested at 3:28 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13 on a warrant for misdemeanor criminal mischief. He allegedly broke a window at Greenbriar Apartments, 2001 Ave. F on July 13. Gonzalez pleaded guilty, paid a municipal court fine and was released later that afternoon.

 

Violence, weapons

Kevin James Medina, 45, of 109 Tura was arrested at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11 on a warrant for family violence causing injury. He stands accused of an incident on Sept. 8 in the 300 block of Shropshire. Processed, Medina was transferred to county jail the next morning. Once there, he posted a $50,000 bond and was released the same day.

 

City Incidents

Property

Police are investigating a forged check reported at New First National Bank, 202 E. Jackson. The crime took place between June 13 and 15 involving more than $5,000. The incident was reported Sept. 10.

A $169 coffee maker was reported stolen from Walmart, 3413 West Loop, around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10.

Police are investing the theft of coins from El Campo Superwash Coin Laundry, 206 W. Strand, around 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11. Several hundred dollars worth of coins were taken along with identity cards.

Officers were summoned to West Alfred Street on Sept. 7 to take information about an injured child.

 

County Jail Bookings

Dylan Marcos Defriend, 29, of 591 CR 389 in Louise was arrested at 8:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 for possession of a controlled substance. Processed, he posted a $10,000 bond and was released the next day.

Jamorine Fred Johnson, 35, of 506 Market was booked at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 on warrants for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.

Brian Morgan Winzenried, 31, of 1611 Third in Ganado was booked at 9:56 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 on warrants for injury to a child, elderly or disabled person and home burglary with the intent to commit another felony.

Ernesto Garcia, 57, of 1101 Acosta was booked at 10:24 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 on a Harris County warrant for assault causing injury. 

Ramon Victor Flores, 50, of 4514 Shawna in Houston was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for possession of a controlled substance and sexual assault.

 

Other

Dylan Abel Blanco, 27, of 2869 Capri in Brownsville was booked at 1:16 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 on a Cameron County warrant for evading arrest with a vehicle. Processed, he was released the same day. No bond was specified.
