This may be a quieter year for drug seizures along U.S. 59, but Department of Public Safety Pierce officials say they haven’t stopped their efforts to watch for all criminal activity.
“I think the amount of drug seizures is low compared to last year, but that doesn’t mean the activity has stopped,” DPS Lt. Daniel Terronez said Thursday. “We are seeing more and more drug trafficking along alternative routes like Hwy. 90 and especially on Hwy. 35 outside Bay City.”
