Academic awards were given to Louise ISD students at their annual academic and sports banquet held in May.

Students who competed in District UIL competitions include:

Charlie Huerta, first place, Baylee Hudspeth, second, Destinee Ortega, third, Dustin Roberts, alternate, and Keegan Kostelnik, alternate, with all competing in Congress. Huerta, Hudspeth and Ortega went onto State.

Peyton Wilson and Damaris Martinez competed in Copy Editing. Wilson won first place in district and placed fifth at Regionals.

Hudspeth, Wilson and Kade Bubela competed in Editorial Writing. Jayden Cionek and Kourtney Vitera and Hudspeth competed in Feature Writing with Hudspeth placing third.

Other District competitors include Martinez, Bubela and Gaige Kocian in Headline Writing; Wilson, fourth place, Martinez and Vitera in News Writing; Cionek,Clarissa Montes and Rosa Moreno in Ready Writing; Hudspeth, Informative Speaking; Mark Olvera, Persuasive Speaking, second place, sixth place Regional; Katy Cook, second, Kostelnik, fourth, both in Poetry; and Vitera, second, and Andrea Dunlap, both in Prose.

Tyler Sulak, Calculator Application; Salvador Hernandez and Saul Medina, Mathematics; Cionek, Number Sense; Justin Capak, Science Individual, second and top scorer in Biology; Dunlap, Coby Dunlap, Isabel Lilie, Capak, Cook and Riley Jones all placed second in Science Team; Heurta, Science, alternate; Trinity Taylor, fifth, Montes and Jessica Nordeen in Social Studies; Kaitlyn Surratt, fifth, Cionek and Sergio Pedrazza for Spelling; Vitera, All Star Cast, Lilie, honorable mention-All Star Cast, Hudspeth, Duran Vasquez, Cionek, Surratt, Cook, Kostelnik, Michala Sulak, Ryan Franke and Savannah Morton, all for One Act Play.
