youth fair

Look for the special section with Wharton County Youth Fair sales results next week.

Issues with compiling purchasers delayed the annual post fair special section.

“I know the youth fair has been over for some time, but these children worked extremely hard on their assorted projects and a whole lot of businesses and individuals stepped up to support their efforts,” El Campo Leader-News Publisher Shannon Crabtree said. “They deserve the recognition even though it is a bit later than usual.”

WCYF volunteers did the work compiling the names of purchases and determining dollar amounts – a figure which changed multiple times as “add-on” supporters stepped up.

“These volunteers did a ton of work, all to make sure those kids and their supporters can get the recognition they deserve. We are happy to work with them on this project and hope you, the readers, enjoy this upcoming special section,” Crabtree said.

“The Leader-News would also like to thank the advertisers who make the section possible for their patience. The kids, I think, are worth it,” she added.
