Veronica Nicole Johnson, 23, of 409 E. Watt was arrested at 9:19 p.m. Thursday, June 6 for no driver’s license, failure to maintain financial responsibility and possession of marijuana after being stopped in the 1700 block of South Mechanic. Processed, she was transferred to the Wharton County Jail the next day. Once there, she posted $2,500 in bonds and was released June 9.
Eva Mabry Williams, 62, of 119 Thompson was arrested at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, June 6 on a warrant for criminal mischief. She stands accused of damaging a seat in a vehicle parked at El Campo Spraying, 2601 N. Mechanic on May 16. Damage was estimated at $300. Processed, she was sent to county jail. On June 7 while at the jail, warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and three counts of criminal mischief were served against her. Processed, she posted $34,500 in bonds and was released the same day.
Jimmy James Jones, 54, of 714 College was arrested at 10:57 a.m. Saturday, June 8 on a warrant for parole violation – burglary of a habitation as well as charges of failure to maintain financial responsibility, speeding and driving while license invalid. He was transferred to county jail.
Sherri Ann Smith, 46, of 704 Ave. K was arrested at 12:47 p.m. Saturday, June 8 on a warrant for issuance of a bad check. She was processed locally.
More than $1,000 was reported stolen from Deluxe Nails, 3703 FM 2765, at some point between April and December of 2018. The report was filed Thursday, June 6.
A hit-and-run was reported in the 200 block of Sentinal on Sunday, June 9.
Police are investigating the report of a crime against a child on the city’s southeast side June 5. Additional information is not available as of presstime.
Vandalism and an assault on the grounds of El Campo Spraying, 2601 N. Mechanic around 7 a.m. Thursday, June 6 are under investigation. A tire was damaged. No injuries were reported.
A case of family violence in the 700 block of North Washington is under review. Injuries were reported in this case which took place around 78:30 p.m. Thursday, June 6.
The possible neglect of a child is under investigation in the 800 block of the West Loop around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8.
A report of family violence with injuries came in around 5:30 a.m. Sunday, June 9 from the 900 block of Cotton.
Shots fired on or near the grounds of Jackson Inn, 405 W. Jackson, around 9 p.m. Sunday, June 9 is under investigation. “There was some kind of altercation between I believe three people,” ECPD Lt. Russell Urban said. “Apparently one of them fired a couple of shots. No one or nothing was hit that I am aware of.”

Jerry Gale Gardner, 34, of 1408 Whitson, Apt. 22-A, in Bay City was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for marijuana possession at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday, June 5. The next day, Gardner was charged with failure to identity – fugitive from justice and Matagorda County warrants for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and speeding.
Expedito Lorenzo Acuna, 26, of 3102 Neal in Beasley was arrested by WCSO at 7:26 p.m. Saturday, June 8 for two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and a single count of marijuana possession.
Kelsey Lynn Mitchell, 23, of 2001 Ave. F was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 2:37 a.m. Saturday, June 8 for driving while intoxicated. Processed, she posted a $1,500 bond and was released the same day.
Celina Marie Vasquez, 35, of 401 Alamo was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 2:03 a.m. Saturday, June 8 for manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated third or more offense. A Wharton PD warrant for public intoxication was later served against her.
Amber Nichole Brown, 39, of 1415 E. Jackson was arrested by WCSO at 4:09 p.m. Sunday, June 9 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Bianca Noemy Campos, 22, of 6500 El Camino Del Rey in Houston was arrested by state troopers at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, June 9 for driving while intoxicated.
Adam Lee Gonzalez, 27, of 691 CR 434 in Danevang was booked at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 5 on a warrant for theft. Processed, he posted a $5,000 bond and was released the same day.
Elyjah Abdual Ford, 27, of 3469 Novasad in Wharton was arrested by WCSO for burglary of a building and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Raymond Earl Hawkins, 47, of 306 W. Railroad in Boling was arrested by deputies at 10:42 p.m. Friday, June 7 for the violation of a bond or protective order. Processed, he posted a $2,500 bond and was released the next day.
Demetria Michelle Smith, 46, of 1415 W. Norris, Apt. 212-K, was booked at 2:15 p.m. Friday, June 7 on warrants for robbery and kidnapping.
