Corina Marquez Burns, 50, of 6206 Shadyview in Houston was arrested at 9:42 p.m. Thursday, June 13 for driving while intoxicated after police were dispatched to a crash on U.S. 59. Processed, she was transferred to the Wharton County Jail the next day. Once there, she posted a $500 bond and was released the same day.

Luis Miguel Perez Guerrero, 31, of 3012 Del Monte in Bay City was arrested at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, June 16 for driving while intoxicated after being stopped in the 100 block of West Hillje. Processed, he was transferred to county jail later that morning. Once there, he posted a $500 bond and was released the same day.

Jonathan Alexander Maldonado, 20, address unknown, was arrested at 1:48 a.m. Sunday, June 16 for driving while intoxicated and no driver’s license after being stopped in the 200 block of Hoskins Broadway. Processed, he was transferred to county jail. At the jail, his address is listed as 26514 U.S. 59 - Reyna’s Mobile Park. He posted $700 in bonds and was released the same day.

Jose Guadalupe Rivera, 51, of 311 Foerster was arrested at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, June 16 for driving while intoxicated third or more offense after being stopped in the 1400 block of East after police were dispatched to the report of a suspicious vehicle. Processed, he was transferred to county jail later that day.

Felipe De Jesus Lopez-Aldama, 33, of 908 CR 188 in Wharton was arrested at 7:56 p.m. Sunday, June 16 for driving while intoxicated second offense after being stopped in the 2400 block of North Mechanic by police investigating the report of a reckless driver. Processed, he was transferred to county jail the next day.

William James Hodge, 33, of 1136 CR 121 in Pledger was arrested at 10:57 a.m. Sunday, June 16 on a warrant for violation of a protective order two or more times within a 12-month period. Processed, he was transferred to county jail. While there, driving while license invalid was also served against him.

City Incidents

Property

Police are investigating the report of theft of service coming from the 200 block of West Alfred on June 7.

Thieves targeted a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Farenthold between 9:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13 and 7:30 a.m. Friday, June 14. Two watches, two pairs of shoes, boots and a gym bag were among the items stolen. Loss exceeds $900.

Vandals did an estimated $200 damage to a door at the El Campo Inn, 25010 U.S. 59, around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15.

A purse and its contents were stolen from a vehicle parked near the intersection of West Second and Greely between 3 and 9 p.m. Saturday, June 15. Loss is estimated at $50.

Two window air-conditioning units and tools were stolen from a home in the 600 Lundy between 5 p.m. Sunday, June 16 and 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 17. Loss nears $900.

Violence, weapons

Police are investigating a crime involving indecency with a child reported Saturday, June 15. The crime took place between Feb. 1 and March 18.

A child was reportedly neglected on Roth Street on Friday, June 14.

Family violence was reported at the El Campo Inn, 25010 U.S. 59, around 11:45 p.m. Friday, June 14.

Police are investigating the report of shots fired in the 200 block of West Monseratte around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, June 16. Another report of shots fired came from the 300 block of Alamo. A Chevrolet was at both scenes.

Other

Police are investigating the report of damaged vehicle parts on the grounds of Mikeska Bar-B-Que & Catering, 22730 U.S. 59, on June 2.

A handgun was reportedly found on the grounds of St. Philip Catholic Church, 304 W. Church, around 6 p.m. Saturday, June 15.

Officers are seeking information on a person who fled from police in the 2100 block of Rosemary around 2 a.m. Saturday, June 15.

Bruce Earl Calhoun, 52, of 6826 FM 1096 was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 2:11 a.m. Thursday, June 13 for possession of a controlled substance.

Jacob Levens Burttschell, 20, of 814 Church in East Bernard was arrested by WCSO at 11:30 p.m. Friday, June 14 for possession of marijuana. Processed, he posted a $500 bond and was released the next day.

Joe Torres III, 50, of 10512 FM 1301 in Boling was arrested by WCSO at 1:10 a.m. Friday, June 15 for evading arrest with a vehicle, driving while intoxicated second offense, resisting arrest and driving while license invalid. Processed, he posted $15,500 in bonds and was released the same day.

Property

Abelardo Mendoza III, 53, of 9062 FM 441 in Louise was booked at 9:08 a.m. Friday, June 15 on a warrant for theft of service in excess of $2,500. Processed, he posted a $5,000 bond and was released the next day.

Joe Domingo Torres IV, 25, of 10512 FM 1301 in Boling was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 1:10 a.m. Friday, June 15 for resisting arrest and interfering with public duties. Processed, he posted a $3,500 bond and was released the same day.
