Thinking perhaps of hot summer days, shoplifters made their selections last week – a $300 water slide and an almost $200 window air-conditioning unit.

The crime, officials at the West Loop Walmart said, took place between noon Friday, June 21 and 3 a.m. Sunday, June 23.

The evidence will possibly be deployed in plain view somewhere in the community. After all, it’s unlikely a water slide would be set up inside a building.

So ask yourself this, have you noticed a mysteriously appearing water slide on a home that also got a new window A/C last week?

Did you hear of either for sale at a too-good-to-be-true price.

If you answered “yes,” to either question, investigators would like to hear from you.

Call 543-5311, but remember, be cool about it.
