Grant Deshawn Farrow, 31, of 911 W. Second was arrested at 7:31 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 for evading arrest with a previous conviction, possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and no bicycle registration after police stopped him in the 600 block of College. A warrant for forgery was served against him as well. Police had been dispatched to the report of a prowler. Officers seized methamphetamines and pill holder. Processed, Farrow was transferred to the Wharton County Jail.

Benjamin James Gonzales, 33, listed as homeless in El Campo, was arrested at 7:41 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 in the same incident as Farrow. Gonzales faces charges of no bicycle registration and evading arrest along with warrants for public intoxication, disorderly conduct (abusive language and indecent exposure), failure to appear, driving while license invalid and violating a promise to appear. He too was transferred to county jail later that day.

Moses Duarte, 27, of 1413 Fred was arrested at 8:02 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 for possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped in the 800 block of Olivia. Officers seized a smoking pipe from him. Processed, Duarte pleaded guilty, paid a fine and was released the next day.

Vangie Marie Lee Deleon, 34, of 1448 Ruth was arrested at 10:32 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 for possession of marijuana, no driver’s license and failure to maintain financial responsibility after officers stopped her in the 700 block of East Second. Processed, she was transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, she posted $1,900 in bonds and was released the same day.

Joshua Rene Martinez, 24, of 204 E. Correll was arrested at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped near his home. Processed, he was sent to county jail later that day. Once there, he posted $1,700 in bond and was released the same day.

A teenager was arrested for marijuana possession on the grounds of El Campo Middle School, 4010 FM 2765, around 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13.

 

Property

Lenard Mitchell Baites, 23, of 1508 Palacios was arrested at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 in Victoria on an El Campo warrant for burglary of a building. He was sent to county jail.

Sammy Kirk Farrow Jr., 39, of 209 W. Alfred was arrested at 9:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10 on warrants for two counts of forgery after turning himself into the county jail. He stands accused trying to pass forged checks at Ritz Food Mart 2, 1120 W. Jackson, on Jan. 8. The jail report lists additional charges of five counts of forgery as well as identity theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle and theft.

Veronica Moreno, 34, of 13482 FM 441 South in Danevang was arrested at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 for fighting in the 600 block of West Norris. Processed, she posted a municipal bond and was released later that day.

Perla Karina Vasquez, 29, of 401 S. Main in Louise was arrested at 8 p.m. Sunday Jan. 12 in the same incident as Moreno. She too faces a fighting charge. Vasquez was processed locally.

City Incidents

Property

Vandals did an estimated $5,000 damage to the gas tank on a Dodge parked in the 1000 block of Thrift around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12.

 

Violence, weapons

A handgun was reportedly used to threaten a person during a disturbance in the 600 block of Fahrenthold around 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9. No injuries were reported. Additional information was not available as of press time.

Police are investigating an assault report and a threat issued in the 700 block of Alice around 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.

Eric Matthew Guevara, 18, of 1413 Julia was arrested at 10:21 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8 for possession of a controlled substance and marijuana along with a unspecified Class C misdemeanor. Processed, he posted $6,500 in bonds and was released the same day.

Tyler Jordan Vernon, 19, of 1310 Julia was arrested for marijuana possession and an unspecified Class C misdemeanor at 9:22 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8. He posted $1,500 in bonds and was released the same day.

Michael David Drozd Jr., 39, of 200 FM 1160 in Louise was booked at 6:109 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 to serve a sentence for driving while intoxicated.

Hilario Ramos Montero, 23, of 1001 Pultar Road, Apt. 112, in Richmond was arrested by state troopers at 6:34 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, no driver’s license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Jacie Nichole Kellum, 35, of 238 Boone Circle in East Bernard was arrested by DPS at 12:52 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 for marijuana possession.

Jacob Daniel Walker, 19, of 3715 Pecan Creek in Wharton was arrested by state troopers at 12:52 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 for possession of marijuana.

 

Property

Marco A. Cedillo-Ozuna, 31, of 223 Palestine in Houston was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 9:29 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 for eight counts of tampering with identification numbers and one count of theft. Processed, he posted $40,000 in bonds and was released the next day.

Pedro Roberto Flores, 43, of 2603 CR 424 was booked at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 to serve a weekend jail sentence for family violence. He was released Sunday.

Sandra Cantu-Nino, 22, of 710 Market was arrested by WCSO at 5:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 for abandoning or endangering a child criminal negligence and deadly conduct. Processed, she posted $17,500 in bond and was released the same day.
