Wharton County Sheriff incumbent faces challenger in November

Posted: Wednesday, October 3, 2012 4:16 pm

A Wharton county native will challenge incumbent Jess Howell for sheriff in the November General Election.

East Bernard resident Phillip David Rehak will represent the Democratic ticket, but this is not the first time he has made a run for county sheriff against Howell. In 2000, Rehak garnered 37 percent of the Republican vote during the GOP primary, but Howell claimed a 2,685 to 1,560 victory.
