Sunny Lee Anderson, 34, of 11147 Dalebrook in Houston was arrested at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23 for possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, possession of marijuana in a drug free zone and driving while license invalid after police stopped his vehicle in the 1400 block of East Jackson.

Discovering crack cocaine and marijuana during the stop, officers took Anderson into custody. The arrest was made within 1,000 feet of Rotary Park, a drug free zone.

Anderson was processed and transferred to the Wharton County Jail the next day,

Violence, weapons

Andy Gonzales, 32, of 405 Merchant was arrested at 7:38 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23 for resisting arrest, search or transport after officers encountered him on the West Loop. Processed, he was transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, he posted $7,500 in bonds and was released the same day.

Steven Escamilla Jr., 21, of 810 Empire was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24 for resisting arrest, search or transport after an issue developed on Avenue E. Processed, he was transferred to county jail the next day. Escamilla then posted a $2,500 bond and was released the next day.

Property

An estimated $5,000 in jewelry was reported stolen in the 1000 block of the West Loop sometime between Dec. 15 and 19. The report was filed Dec. 26.

A building was reportedly burglarized in the 400 block of Omega sometime between Dec. 15 and 25. No information was available on loss.

A 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 900 block of Center sometime between Dec. 17 and 23.

A burglar also struck a vehicle parked at Greenbriar Apartments, 2001 Ave. F, sometime between Dec. 21 and 22. No information was available on loss.

Police are investigating a report of criminal trespass and family violence in the Vallejo Properties, 104 Ave. E, around 2 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23. No major injuries were reported.

County Jail Bookings

Jose E. Alvarez, 33, of 211 Stafford was arrested at 9:21 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22 by sheriff’s deputies for driving while intoxicated third or more offense. Processed, he posted a $10,000 bond and was released the next day.

Joseph Wray, 23, of 515 Oak in Lake Jackson was arrested at 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23 by state troopers for two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, one count of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Processed, he posted $51,000 in bonds and was released the next day.

Jarett Paul Drozd, 22, of 2806 Lindale Circle, 22, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 5:53 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 for driving while intoxicated second offense.

Phillip Sebastian Garza, 28, of 207 Sonata Court was arrested by state troopers at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 on a warrant for marijuana possession.

Rufino Rivera III, 31, of 313 Siesta in East Bernard was arrested at 12:36 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24 by sheriff’s deputies for assault family violence.

Joel Mack Coward, 45, of 126 Lanfair Lane in Rockport was arrested by state troopers at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 for violating a bond or protective order.

Terroth Shern Faniel, 51, of 250 CR 243 in Wharton was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26 for deadly conduct – discharging a firearm.
