Daniel Castillo, 33, 7500 Pinemont Dr. in Houston was arrested at 12:59 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 for no driver’s license and driving while intoxicated - open container violation – after being stopped on U.S. 59. Castillo was processed and transferred to the Wharton County Jail later that morning.

Nicholas Juan Garcia, 36, of 107 Vasa was arrested at 11:48 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 for possession of a controlled substance after police encountered him on Tallow Lane. Officers found crack cocaine in his vehicle. Garcia was processed and transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, he posted a $5,000 bond and was released the same day.

Ahida Garcia Villapando, 34, of 2409 Benchmark was arrested at 2:42 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19 for driving while intoxicated second offense after being stopped on Wright. Processed, she was transferred to county jail later that day. Once there, she posted a $2,500 bond and was released the same day.

Jimmy Lee Gonzales, 41, of 506 S. Mechanic was arrested at 2:39 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21 for driving while intoxicated after being stopped in a store parking lot on South Mechanic. Processed, he was transferred to county jail later that morning. Once there, he posted a $500 bond and was released the same day.

Property

Angel Renee Warner, 27, of 204 E. Seventh was arrested at 11:55 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 on a warrant for theft. She stands accused of stealing three cellphones from a West Loop business on Dec. 5, 2017. Warner was processed and transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, she posted a $2,500 bond and was released the same day.

Ryan Andrew Hoffman, 30, of 15907 Penina Court in Crosby was arrested at 11:59 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 for criminal mischief after allegedly damaging a jail mattress while being held for a misdemeanor charge. Processed, he was transferred to county jail the next day.

Violence, weapons

Jarvis Dewayne Jackson, 30, of 1504 Connie in Wharton was arrested at 12:09 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 on warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence), burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit a felony and unlawful restraint exposing a person to serious bodily injury. He stands accused of a Jan. 9 attack on North Washington Street involving a knife. Already at the county jail, he was processed there.

City Incidents

Property

Burglars struck a home in the 1100 block of Alvin between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12. Breaking glass to gain entry, burglars stole a television and prescription medication. Loss is estimated at $800.

A $600 iPhone was reported stolen in the 1000 block of the West Loop between 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 and 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13.

A Buick Encore was reported stolen from the 2800 block of Myatt Lane between 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 and 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14. Loss is estimated at $10,000.

Regal Nails, 3413 West Loop, reported a theft of service between 12:10 and 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13. Loss is estimated at $75.

The theft of more than $1,100 was reported at Buc-ee’s No. 27, 2403 N. Mechanic, around 3 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14. A customer claims to have dropped it.

Police are investigating a report of debit or credit card abuse filed at New First National Bank, 205 E. Calhoun. The crime, reported Sunday, allegedly took place Oct. 20.

Burglars struck a unit in the El Campo Village, 1185 Olivia, between 4 and 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20. Two televisions and video game systems were taken along with headphones. Loss exceeds $2,700.

Beer was reported stolen from Speedy Stop, 502 N. Mechanic, around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21.

Cody Lee Rivera, 26, of 400 Louis in East Bernard was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 5:34 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 for driving while intoxicated. Processed, he posted bond and was released Sunday, Jan. 14. He was arrested again at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 on the same charge, processed and released Sunday.

Ryanisha Chanell Felder, 26, of 810 Carolyn in Wharton was arrested by state troopers at 10:23 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 for possession of a controlled substance. Processed, she posted a $2,500 bond and was released the next day.

Jaime Ortiz, 34, of 512 Bob O Link Lane in Wharton was arrested by state troopers at 2:32 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 for driving while intoxicated second offense. Processed, he posted a $2,000 bond and was released the same day.

Jesus Lorenzo Ruiz-Martinez, 27, of 210-A Church was arrested by DPS for driving while intoxicated at 12:58 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20. Processed, he posted a $1,000 bond and was released the same day.
