Kevin Kyle Weiss, 30, of 1101 Chapel was arrested at 11:51 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 for manufacture of a controlled substance more than 4 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Erin entering the home. There they found cellular phones, a digital scale, multiple baggies, a glass pipe and methamphetamines. Weiss was processed and transferred to the Wharton County Jail the next day.

A warrant for violation of a bond or protective order was also served against Weiss.

Jose Osvaldo Mijuares, 22, of 311 Foerster was arrested at 6:18 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 on warrants for driving while intoxicated and a hit-and-run. Mijuares was processed and transferred to county jail later that day. Once there, he posted $1,000 in bonds and was released the same day.

Jorge Luis Montoya-Hernandez, 32, of 1102 Heights was arrested at 10:41 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 for assault family violence after being dispatched to his home. Montoya-Hernandez was processed, paid a fine and was released that day.

Michael James Lee, 35, of Sour Lake was arrested at 7:49 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 on Hardin County warrants for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence) and evading arrest with a vehicle. Lee was processed and transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, he posted $25,000 in bonds and was released the next day.

James Edward Curtis, 49, 1606 Able was arrested on an unspecified time on Sunday, Nov. 12 on a warrant for failure to appear – assault causing injury. Processed, he was transferred to county jail the next day.

Artemio Rodriguez Jr., 42, of 611 Bruns was arrested at 11:24 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 12 for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, violation of a bond or protective order, public intoxication, discharging a firearm in the city limits and evading arrest or detention after police were dispatched to a disturbance in the 500 block of East. Processed, he was transferred to county jail the next day.

Other

Bianca Marie Arriaga, 25, of 306 CR 187 in Boling was arrested at 3:11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13 on warrants for fraudulent destruction, removal or concealment of writing and theft. She was transferred to county jail later that day.

City Incidents

Property

A car title and passport were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2800 block of North Mechanic sometime between June 1 and 14. The report was filed Nov. 9.

Credit cards, a cellphone, handbag and other items were stolen on the grounds of H-E-B, 306 N. Mechanic around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9.

A vehicle theft took place Sunday, Nov. 12 in the 200 block of West Alfred.

Violence, weapons

An assault is under investigation at Church of Christ, 315 E. Calhoun. The incident took place in March with investigation continuing.

An incident of harassment is under investigation at a West Loop business where calls were received Thursday, Nov. 9.

Joe Lee Sparks Jr., 59, of 808 Burdette was arrested by Wharton police for possession of marijuana at 8:03 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11. Processed, he posted a $500 bond and was released the next day.

Property

Selina Nicole Ashton, 19, of 707 Nelson faces charges of evading arrest, no driver’s license and a warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle after being arrested by state troopers at 1:16 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12.

Timothy Ray Edwards, 28, of 810 Dunlap was booked at 5:17 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 on warrants for failing to register as a sex offender, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Processed, he posted $130,000 in bonds and was released Monday, Nov. 13.

Erik Desahwn Kimble Jr., 18, of 1107 Otell was booked at 10:02 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8 on an El Campo police charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (family violence).

Ramon Armando Vasquez, 25, of 805 Dunlap was booked at 1:28 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Processed he posted a $1,000 bond and was released the same day.

Darrel James Williams Jr., 35, of 131 Live Oak in Glen Flora was booked at 2:25 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10. Wharton PD arrested him on a warrant for assault family violence causing injury.

Elyjah Abdul Ford, 26, of 3031 CR 166 was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 5:51 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 for assault family violence causing injury and possession of marijuana.

John Garza Gussman, 63, of La Grange was booked at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 on a warrant for indecency with a child by sexual contact.
