Adrian Martinez Martinez, 19, of 409 S. Victoria in Louise was arrested at 1:16 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14 for driving while intoxicated after being stopped on North Mechanic. Martinez was processed and transferred to the Wharton County Jail the next day.

Property

James Randell Rivera Jr., 26, of 608 Bruns was arrested at 2:07 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 on a warrant for engaging in organized criminal activity. He allegedly worked with others to steal a $469 computer from Walmart, 3413 West Loop, on Jan. 11. Rivera was processed and transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, additional warrants for theft and vandalism were added along with charges of driving while license invalid and no liability insurance. Rivera posted $7,500 in bonds and was released the same day.

Patrick Adam Escamilla, 24, of 201 Ripple was arrested at 7:54 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 on a warrant for theft. Processed, he was transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, he posted a $2,000 bond and was released the same day.

Rafael Leonardo Rivera-Flores, 30, of 911 N. Liberty was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 on a warrant for burglary of a habitation. He allegedly broke into an unlocked East Calhoun Street home on Dec. 7. Rivera-Flores was processed and transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, he posted a $35,000 bond and was released the same day.

Violence, weapons

Jose Fuentes Sanchez, 17, of 706 Pichot was arrested at 11:05 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12 for having a prohibited weapon on the El Campo High School grounds, 600 W. Norris. He allegedly had a set of brass knuckles. Processed, Sanchez was transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, he posted a $20,000 bond and was released the same day.

Jonathan Lewis Melchor, 20, of 416 Mayfield was arrested at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14 for assault and public intoxication after police encountered him in the 100 block of South Washington. Processed, Melchor was released the next day with credit for time served.

Other

Wesley David Castro, 28, of 713 Merchant was arrested at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child. The 2017 crime, a single occurrence, allegedly involved six-year-old girl at a private residence, according to El Campo Police Lt. Russell Urban. Castro was processed and transferred to county jail the next day.

City Incidents

Property

A vandal damaged two tires on a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Merchant between 11 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 and 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12. Loss is estimated at $75.

A $200 iPod was stolen from Hutchins Elementary, 1006 Roberts, between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12.

Burglars struck a home in the 1100 block of Alvin between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12. Breaking glass to gain entry, burglars stole a television and prescription medication. Loss is estimated at $800.

A $600 iPhone was reported stolen in the 1000 block of the West Loop between 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 and 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13.

A Buick Encore was reported stolen from the 2800 block of Myatt Lane between 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 and 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14. Loss is estimated at $10,000.

Regal Nails, 3413 West Loop, reported a theft of service between 12:10 and 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13. Loss is estimated at $75.

The theft of more than $1,100 was reported at Buc-ee’s No. 27, 2403 N. Mechanic, around 3 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14. A customer claims to have dropped it.

Cody Lee Rivera, 26, of 400 Louis in East Bernard was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 5:34 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 for driving while intoxicated. Processed, he posted bond and was released Sunday, Jan. 14.

Property

Crystal Marie Garcia, 35, of 390 Ave. K North in Markham was arrested by Wharton police at 5:18 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17 for theft.
