El Campo police are trying to track down the alleged dealer who wasn’t in last week when then raided his selling spot.
The effort did, however, take his products out of circulation.
Responding to complaints of drug trafficking at the Day’s Inn, 25060 U.S. 59, the department started an investigation that led to the raid.
“Narcotics Detective Jeremy Dusek obtained a search warrant for the room, based off of tips from the public and information from patrol officers that narcotics were being sold from the room,” Lt. Russell Urban told the newspaper.
Executing the warrant Dec. 1, officers raided a vacant hotel room.
Inside, however, they were able to recover 11.8 grams of synthetic marijuana, 6.91 grams of methamphetamine and an assortment of pills.
Anyone with information about the goings on at Days Inn should contact the police department or the West Wharton County Crime Stoppers.
Crime Stoppers pay a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of a wanted felon or those responsible for an unsolved crime.
Callers to the tip line – 543-TIPS – do not have to give their names.
