(Note: All cases below are felonies unless otherwise noted.) Those pleading guilty include:
• Homero Garcia Balderas, 41, of 904 Alvin in El Campo for driving while intoxicated third or more offense. He was placed on eight years probation under DWI conditions including an interlock device on his vehicle for the June 22, 2018 crime. The judge also ordered Balderas to receive chemical dependency counseling. To receive the probation, Balderas has to first serve 152 days in county jail, an order he had already complied with at the time of the court hearing.
• Jerome Alexander Brooks, 61, of 1918 West in Houston for fraudulent use or possession of identifying information. He was sentenced to 720 days in state jail for the March 17, 2015 crime. Brooks received credit for the full jail time already served.
• Victoria Mae Candelaria, 28, of 10826 28th in Santa Fe for possession of a controlled substance. She was placed on three years deferred probation for the Feb. 22 crime on the condition she serve two days in county jail. The judge also ordered Candelaria to pay a $500 fine, $180 restitution and perform 160 hours community service. With deferred probation, the conviction won’t be held against Candelaria if she is able to complete all terms. She received credit for the jail time already served.
