Police Investigation Disturbance With Gun Involved

A disturbance in the 800 block of Marionette turned tense around 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 when a handgun was spotted.

“Six to eight people were involved,” El Campo Police Lt. Russell Urban told the newspaper, adding, “Apparently some shots fired. No one hit or injured.”

A home in the area was hit with at least one round.

Those on scene, the detective said, have given conflicting statements on who had the handgun, how many shots were fired and who was responsible for what.

Alcohol, drugs

Juan Alejandro Herrera Murillo, 32, of 303 W. Alfred was arrested at 2:57 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 for driving while intoxicated after being stopped on South Mechanic. Murillo was processed and transferred to the Wharton County Jail later that morning.

Property

Swan Nicole Cortez, 41, of 25060 U.S. 59 was arrested at 10:06 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 for theft with a previous conviction after police encountered her at her home. She was processed and transferred to county jail later that day.

Javier Martinez, 26, of 202 W. Norris was arrested at 12:36 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 on warrants for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct: discharging a firearm after being stopped in La Grange. The warrants stem from a hit-and-run on Corn Avenue on Oct. 21. Martinez was processed there.

Donald Wayne Adams, 45, of Boiling Springs, S.C., was arrested at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 on a warrant for forgery while at the county jail. Adams was processed there.

Dean Delgado Jr., 26, of 406 Omega was arrested at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 on a warrant for burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit a felony. He was processed and transferred to county jail later that day.

Violence, weapons

Breton Kersee Johnson, 24, of 6052 Hwy. 71 South was arrested at 6:56 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 for unlawfully carrying a weapon, public intoxication and walking on the wrong side of a roadway after police were dispatched to a disturbance on North Washington. The weapon was an aluminum bat. Johson was processed and transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, he posted $1,400 in bonds and was released the same day.

Frank Mendiola Jr., 30, of 703 Marianette was arrested at 9:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 for assault family violence causing injury after police were dispatched to a disturbance at his home. Mendiola was processed and transferred to county jail the next day. Once there, his address is listed as 208 S. Cloud in Wharton.

Joash Solis, 30, of 207 W. Alfred was arrested at 9:19 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 for assault family violence causing injury with a previous conviction. Police officers were dispatched to a disturbance at his home. Solis was processed and transferred to county jail the next day.

Kathaleen Megan Lanpher, 25, of 3010 Dogwood Knoll Trail in Rosenberg was arrested at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 on a warrant for making a false report to a law enforcer. The alleged crime involves a burglary report on Bravo Street in October. Already at the county jail, she was processed there. Lanpher posted a $1,000 bond and was released the same day.

Ramon Armando Vasquez, 25, of 805 Dunlap was arrested at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 on a warrant for being a bondsman off bond – aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police encountered him on Roth. Vasquez was processed and released the next day due to medical concerns.

Victor Canelo, 26, of 804 Olivia was arrested at 3:17 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 on a warrant for bond violation – protective order. He was processed and transferred to county jail the next day.

Property

Vandals did an estimated $500 damage to a Chrysler 300 parked in the 1500 block of Bravo between 3:30 and 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3.

An $800 cellphone was stolen from a vehicle parked at Speedy Stop, 502 N. Mehcanic, around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

A hit-and-run was reported between midnight Sunday, Nov. 5 and 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6 at J4 Fencing, 102 S. Meadow Lane. An estimated $3,500 in fencing was damaged or destroyed.

Cruelty to animals - failure to provide is under investigation in the 800 block of Dunlap. The crime reportedly took place between Aug. 15 and Nov. 3.

Rayfus Dwayne Roberts, 26, of 8531 FM 1161 in Wharton faces a possession of a dangerous drug charge after being arrested by state troopers at 1:10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5. Processed at the jail, he posted a $2,000 bond and was released the same day.

Property

Dean Delgado Jr., 26, of 311 Shropshire was arrested by state troopers at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3 on a warrant for burglary of a habitation. Processed at the jail, he posted a $20,000 bond and was released the next day.

Caleb Jeremy Kopecky, 18, of 114 Behrens in East Bernard was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for vandalism at 6:50 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5.

Thomas Flores Martinez, 39, of 295 Spencer Road in Spanish Camp was arrested by deputies at 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 for unlawfully carrying a handgun, being in possession of a prohibited weapon (knuckles) and public intoxication. Processed, he posted a $4,200 bond and was released the next day.

Macauley Tyler Vera, 24, of 2531 CR 356 was booked at 8:22 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 on a warrant for assault family violence with a previous conviction.

Shanonne Dubios Levi, 40, of 821 FM 1914 was arrested by Wharton PD at 12:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2 on a warrant for criminal non support.
