Desmond Deshaun Holmes, 39, of 217 W. Pecan in Wharton was arrested at 12:13 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, expired driver’s license and expired registration.

Investigating at an abandoned or condemned structure in the 500 block of West Monseratte, officers encountered Holmes and seized what they believed was marijuana along with two scales and other paraphernalia.

Holmes was processed and transferred to the Wharton County Jail the next day.

Prescription medication was reported stolen in the 700 block of Center between 11 a.m. and noon Tuesday, Jan. 2. Loss is estimated at $700.

County Incidents


A concrete culvert sustained an estimated $1,500 damage on Dec. 19 near the intersection of FM 441 and CR 322 in Louise.

Deputies are investigating a possible case of identity theft in the 9000 block of FM 441 South in Louise taking place Dec. 29. A 26-year-old woman reported her social security card, birth certificate and other items taken.

Zachary Michael Montalvo, 20, of 1109 Otell was booked at noon Tuesday, Jan. 2 on a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
