Swan Nicole Cortez, 41, of 25060 U.S. 59 was arrested at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28 on warrants for two counts of manufacturing a controlled substance along with single counts of possession of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. She stands accused of being involved in narcotic activity at the Day’s Inn, 25060 U.S. 59, on Dec. 1.

Entering a hotel room on that day, officers discovered synthetic marijuana, methamphetamines and an assortment of items related to narcotics.

Cortez was booked directly into the Wharton County Jail.

Violence, weapons

Luis-Gerardo Gutierrez-Torres, 25, of unlisted address in Altair was arrested at 1:21 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 31 for assault after being involved in a disturbance on U.S. 59. Processed, he was transferred to county jail later that day.

Other

Carlton O’Neal Scott, 35, of 1601 Harris in Wharton was arrested at 11:51 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28 on a warrant for making a false report to a police officer or other law enforcement employee. He stands accused of claiming a vehicle was stolen at the Day’s Inn, 25060 U.S. 59, on Oct. 25.

Kristina Y. Charles, 25, of 6723 Gwyneth in Boling was arrested at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 by state troopers for possession of marijuana. Processed, she posted a $2,000 bond and was released the next day.

Kylie Paige Hardy, 20, of 711 Price in Wharton was arrested by state troopers at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28 for delivery of marijuana under 5 pounds. Processed, she posted a $15,000 bond and was released the same day.

Other

Erik Albert Garcia, 33, of 202 W. Bard in Ganado was booked at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 on a warrant for contempt of court: disobedience of a court order. Processed, he was released the next day on an unspecified bond amount.
