Emilio Lee Mata, 35, of 506 E. Correll was arrested at 5:05 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 for possession of a restricted smoking material after officers encountered him at his home. He allegedly had two synthetic marijuana cigars. Mata was processed and transferred to the Wharton County Jail the next morning.

City Incidents

Property

Three cell phones were stolen from a business in the 3600 block of West Loop on Dec. 5. Loss is estimated near $1,700.

A $600 iPad 2 was stolen on the El Campo High School grounds, 600 W. Norris, sometime between Dec. 22 and 28.

A hit-and-run in the 1500 block of Able caused an estimated $1,000 damage to a vehicle between 6 and 6:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8.

Police are investigating a report of identity theft filed in the 200 block of East Church around 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10.

A $469 computer system was stolen from Walmart, 3413 West Loop, around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Violence, weapons

A case of vandalism and family violence is under investigation in the 200 block of West Alfred. The incident took place around 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8. A cell phone was damaged in the incident.

Police are investigating an incident in the 1100 block of North Washington between 7 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9. A home was apparently broken into with the intent to do family violence. No injuries were reported.

Richard Alanis, 23, of 4901 Dogwood in Rosenberg was arrested by state troopers at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 for possession of marijuana. Processed, he posted a $2,000 bond and was released the next day.

Allen Ray Clay, 38, of 916 Carolyn in Wharton was arrested by deputies at 2:13 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 for possession of a controlled substance.

Sie Garcia, 41, of 7812 Ovalles in Weslaco was arrested by WCSO for unlawful use of a criminal instrumment.

Carl Harton Petersen, 52, of 2001 Ave. F, Apt. 5, was arrested at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 for driving while intoxicated third or more offense.

Andrew Aaron Robinson, 25, of 114 Lazy Lane in Sealy was arrested by DPS at 6:53 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8 for unlawfully carrying a weapon and possession of marijuana. Processed, he posted $4,500 in bonds and was released the next day.

Rosalinda Paniagua, 50, of 608 College in El Campo was arrested at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9 for manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance.

Atoya Chanelle Brawley, 38, of 2900 Ave. A in Bay City was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 1:28 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 for driving while intoxicated. Processed, she posted a $2,500 bond and was released the same day.

Shawn Rene Gaona, 31, of 458 Forrest Lane in Wharton was arrested by the Precinct 3 Constable on a warrant for driving while intoxicated second offense. Processed, he posted a $2,500 bond and was released the next day.

Property

Jamel Lavonte Henderson, 20, of 810 CR 257 in Eagle Lake was arrested by state troopers at 5:51 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9 for unauthorized used of a vehicle and violation of a bond or protective order.

Other

Dornell Laubar Rogers, 40, of 713 Branch in Wharton was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 on a warrant for criminal nonsupport.
