Jamael Rashard Byrd, 27, of 826 W. Burlson in Wharton was arrested at 4:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22 on a warrant for assault family violence causing injury. He was allegedly involved in a disturbance at the Day’s Inn, 25060 U.S. 59 earlier that day where harm was done to a woman. Police encountered him in the 1400 block of Palacios. Byrd was processed and transferred to the Wharton County Jail the next day. Once there, he posted a $2,500 bond and was released the same day.

Monika Lou Davis-Pineda, 36, of 208 Shropshire was arrested at 7:34 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 for criminal trespass after allegedly being on the grounds of Greenbriar Apartments, 2001 Ave. F. Davis-Pineda was processed and transferred to county jail the next morning. Once there, she posted a $2,500 bond and was released the same day.

City Incidents

Property

A complainant in the 200 block of West Alfred reported $40,000 cash stolen from a home between Dec. 11 and Jan. 22. The crime was reported Monday, Jan. 22.

The Second Time Around Resale Shop, 1825 N. Mechanic, reported a more than 500 pound item – a tanning bed – dumped shortly before midnight on Jan. 15.

A Yorkie was reported stolen in the 600 block of Avenue K around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21. The dog is valued at $800.

Violence, weapons

Police were summoned to El Campo High School, 600 W. Norris, to speak with authorities about a possible crime taking place sometime between Dec. 11 and Jan. 23. A teacher reported being harassed while on the campus by a non-student.

Police were dispatched the a disturbance in the 500 block of East West around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23. No reports of injuries or arrests were filed.

Alcohol, drugs

Marissa Lee Hernandez, 17, of 410 Texas in Corpus Christi was arrested by state troopers for possession of marijuana at 11:33 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20.

Jonray Andrew Pineda, 18, of 4742 Barrera in Corpus Christi was arrested by DPS at 11:33 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 for evading arrest with a vehicle, unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of marijuana.

Drakkar James Owens, 27, of 127 N. Elm in Glen Flora was booked at 2:12 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22 on a Fayette County warrant for driving while intoxicated. Processed, he posted a $4,000 bond and was released the next day.

Jose Santos Fernandez Jr., 40, of 24206 Balcones Gate in San Antonio was arrested at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24 for tampering with evidence, evading arrest with a vehicle and marijuana possession.

Crystal Marie Garcia, 35, of 390 Ave. K North in Markham was arrested by Wharton police at 5:18 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17 for theft.

Bradrick Lavelle Kuykendall, 26, of 1703 Azalea in Wharton was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for burglary of a habitation.

Wesley David Castro, 28, of 713 Merchant was booked at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Michael Jospeh Crivello, 69, of 127 W. Emily in Wharton was booked at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19 on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Other

Priest Jambar Woods, 36, of 304 S. Shepard in Wharton was arrested by Wharton PD on two Attorney General warrants for failure to pay child support.
