Anthony Alan Ross Jr., 40, of 510 N. Liberty was arrested at 9:56 a.m. Sunday, May 27 on possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia as well as warrants for failure to signal a turn, no driver’s license, failure to maintain financial responsibility and failure to appear after being stopped on the grounds of Zip In Zip Out, 1414 Palacios. He allegedly had methamphetamines in his possession. Ross was processed and transferred to the Wharton County Jail the next morning.

Joeangel Oscar Alvelo, 24, of 207.5 W. Norris was arrested at 7:43 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 for injuring a child, family violence with a previous conviction, two counts of no driver’s license, failure to maintain financial responsibility and two counts of violating a promise to appear on a Class C offense after police were dispatched to a disturbance at his home.

A .357 revolver was stolen from a home in the 1300 block of Alice sometime between May 1 and 15. Loss is estimated at $500.

An almost $1,700 welding machine was reported stolen from Tractor Supply Company, 3506 West Loop, between 1 and 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17.

Police are investigating a report of credit or debit card abuse filed May 25. The crime involved a South Street victim on May 20.

Vandals struck in the 200 block of Olive around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29. A vehicle window valued at $500 was broken.

A disturbance in the 600 block of North Washington around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 is under investigation by police. A person was reportedly injured there in an assault.

A gun was reportedly displayed during a disturbance in the 1300 block of Short around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29. No injuries were reported.

Burglars struck in the 700 block of FM 1160 in Louise on Monday, May 28. A bed set along with an antique mirror and wash stand were stolen. Loss is estimated at $1,500.

Michael Wayne Sosa, 32, of 605 Rice was booked at 7:13 a.m. Thursday, May 24 on warrants for evading arrest with a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Casey Nicole Newman, 31, of 1907 Wayne was arrested by Wharton police at 9:09 a.m. Tuesday, May 29 on warrants for possession of a controlled substance and three counts of forgery.

Elias Duran Jr., 19, of 819 College was arrested by Wharton police at 4:24 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 on warrants for theft of a firearm and marijuana possession.

Juan Ernesto Saldana, 31, of 11924 Santa Fe in Donna was booked at 11:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 30 on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance more than 200 grams.

Michael George Bauer Jr., 33, of 3138 FM 1299 in Wharton was booked at 11:24 a.m. Thursday, May 24 on a warrant for theft.

Jessica Scott Spiller, 38, of 1401 Thompson in Bay City was booked at 9:10 a.m. Thursday, May 24 on a warrant for assaulting a public servant.

Abel Sosa, 29, of 7404 Town Center in Rosenberg was arrested at 6:27 a.m. Wednesday, May 30 on warrants for three counts of indecency with a child – sexual contact. Processed, he posted $300,000 in bonds and was released the same day.
