New Chief In Town

New El Campo Police Chief Gary Williamson takes the oath of office as recited by City Attorney Ronny Collins in Council Chambers Friday afternoon.  Previously the El Campo assistant police chief,  Williamson replaces Terry Stanphill who retired at the end of October.  Serving El Campo citizens for the last 20 years, Williamson becomes only the sixth person in the ECPD’s 74-year history to hold the chief’s title. His official first day was Sunday, Nov. 1.
