Remote Shopping Reaches El Campo

El Campo H-E-B employee Jacob Mclain picks out avocados Wednesday on behalf of a customer in preparation for the grocery store’s new curbside pick up service. Local businesses began offering new contactless pick up and delivery services due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and H-E-B joined the list Thursday. Store leaders said more than 50 locals used the new service on the day it premiered, shopping ahead online and then having their groceries brought out to their cars. (See Story on Page 3.)
