Wharton County Precinct 2 Deputy Constable Roderic Taylor sits trapped inside his patrol cruiser as members of the El Campo Volunteer Fire Department work to cut away the driver’s side door. Despite heavy damage to the front end of the cruiser, Taylor sustained only minor injuries in the high-speed collision with a grain hopper at the intersection of U.S. 59 and Hwy. 71 Thursday.
