Helen Swaney

Helen Griffin Repka Swaney of El Campo passed away April 13, 2019 at the age of 86 after a short illness. She was born March 30, 1933 in High Island to Sterling E. and Agnes Banks Griffin, born third of five children. She lived in several states throughout her life enjoying a gypsy lifestyle working in a variety of jobs. Through all of the ups and downs in her life she was always a very kind and compassionate person with a very caring soul. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed her days on earth. She always had a funny remark to make people laugh.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Lynn Repka and Mary of Corpus Christi, Jody Joseph Repka and Cynthia of El Campo, Kevin Eugene Repka and Sena of El Campo; daughter, Sheila Repka Wall and Michael of El Campo; brother, James Ray Griffin of El Campo; eight grandchildren, Olivia Wall, Michael Thomas Wall, Cameron Wall, Angelina Repka Mitchum, Michael Scott Repka, Shane Repka and Melissa Repka and Kevin Kris Repka along with 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sterling Griffin, Henry Griffin, Alice Griffin Gore; grandchild, Chloe Lynn Wall; husbands, Ernest Repka and Douglas Swaney.

Visitation will be 4 - 6 p.m. Friday, April 19 at Wheeler Funeral Home with a prayer service from 6 - 6:30 p.m., led by nephew Jimmy “Bimbo” Griffin.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wheeler Funeral Home, El Campo.
