Leroy Shelton

Leroy Clive Shelton, 87, of El Campo passed away on June 15, 2019. He was born on Dec. 12, 1931 in Houston to Louis and Lola Mae Knous Shelton.

He was a Navy veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a retired press supervisor at Reynolds Aluminum.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Bolton of Kerrville, Suzanne Summers, Lisa Zamazal and Kimberly Francis, all of El Campo; sons, Jerry Shelton and Michael Shelton, both of El Campo; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Vacker and brother, Dickie Shelton, both of Houston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Scherbig Shelton; son, Leroy Shelton Jr.; sisters, Shirley Henson and Ann Wheeland and brothers, Billy and Sonny Shelton.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 at Triska Funeral Home. Funeral service begins 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19 at Triska Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick DuBroc officiating. Graveside services with military Honors will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251.

Pallbearers are Jerry Shelton Jr., Dustin Shelton, Eric Bell, Joshua Bolton, Matthew Zamazal, Cameron Zamazal, John Francis, Jr. and Brandon Shelton. Honorary pallbearer is Adam Bolton.

Memorial donations in Leroy’s memory may be made to the S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home No. 3 in Hillje or donor’s choice.
