A.J. Fucik

Alphonse John “A.J.” Fucik of El Campo died Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 at the age of 78. He was born July 10, 1940 in El Campo to the now late George Frank and Sophie Naiser Fucik Sr.

He was a retired longtime commercial bee keeper and had served as president of the Texas Bee Keepers Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Fucik of El Campo and Paul Fucik of Austin, and daughter, Carolyn Stephenson of Bandera; grandchildren, Breck Stephenson, Colton Stephenson, June Fucik, and Marina Fucik; great-grandchildren, Hailey Fucik and Christopher Fucik; sister, Charlene Baca of Littleton, Colo.; brothers, George A. Fucik of Louise, Ray Allen Fuechec of El Campo; and caregiver, Sandra Ford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Billy Fuechec and grandson, Joshua Fucik.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 at Triska Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at St. John Catholic Church in Taiton. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gabriel Oduro Tawiah officiating. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeff Fuechec, Todd Fuechec, Mike Fucik, Paul Fucik, Coleton Stephenson and Frank Stephenson.
